Researcher, Kosovo Women’s Network
How can we improve legislation in order to make sure that violence is not being tolerated in Kosovo? Sometimes it's quite a challenge, sometimes you feel devastated, sometimes you feel like things aren't changing. Then you see a good thing happen, and you feel motivated and you continue.
Adelina Berisha still remembers the police officers blocking the entrance to the building of her school on her first day of classes in the early 1990’s as Kosovar Albanians faced mass-discrimination enforced by Serb authorities under the Milošević regime. Those early experiences led to Berisha’s commitment to fighting injustices. She currently works as a researcher for Kosovo Women’s Network, with a focus on combating domestic violence.
