Former Deputy Prime Minister & Peace Negotiator
Women make up half of humanity. How can you rationally ignore 50 percent of capacity when working for a better future?
Edita Tahiri is the Former Minister for Dialogue for the Republic of Kosovo. As conflict escalated in the 1990’s, Tahiri acted as a peace negotiator in dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia, and played a crucial role in establishing Kosovo’s path to independence, as a chief negotiator at the Rambouillet Peace Conference in 1999, which resulted in US and NATO intervention in Kosovo. Today, Tahiri continues to advocate heavily for the inclusion of women in peace negotiations.
