Haveit Performance & Protest Group
It's a very patriarchal society and that impacts us as women, but also the members of LGBT communities. There’s a lot of discrimination in this place. We want to confront that.
Hana Qena is a founding member of Haveit collective, a group made up of four artists (two pairs of sisters) that came together in 2011 after a woman was murdered by her ex-husband in broad daylight. Frustrated by the lack of attention and outrage in response to violence against women and marginalized communities, HaveIt stages acts of performance art in public spaces to call attention to social issues plaguing Kosovar society.
