When Uta Ibrahimi quit her job in 2015 to dedicate her time to climbing mountains, she was met with skepticism from her friends and family. Four years later, and Ibrahimi is one of Kosovo’s leading mountaineers, climbing some of the highest peaks in the world, and inspiring young girls to follow their passions, no matter how bold they may seem. “Sometimes we forget who we are and what we want to do in the future,” said Ibrahimi, who was the first Kosovar woman to summit Everest. “We disconnect from nature.I was tired and decided I’d had enough. Now, I’m climbing big mountains.”
