Haveit Performance/Protest Group
If you make work, you have to stand behind it, and that's what keeps us doing it. Our work changed us. It changed our family, it changed our circles. People don't talk to us like they used to talk before.
Vesa Qena is a founding member of Haveit collective, a group made up of four artists (two pairs of sisters) that came together in 2011 after a woman was murdered by her ex-husband in broad daylight. Frustrated by the lack of attention and outrage in response to violence against women and marginalized communities, HaveIt stages acts of performance art in public spaces to call attention to social issues plaguing Kosovar society.
